Mahipala, jointly inaugurated a brand-new Surgical Unit at Batticaloa Teaching Hospital, built with an Indian grant of over Rs.
300 million.The system is expected to decrease waiting lists for surgeries at the medical facility by 50% and benefit nearly 5000 brand-new patients each year, substantially improving access to quality health care services in the area, the Indian High Commission stated.
